GTShowSymmetryElements[point group]
produces a graphical representation of the symmetry elements of point group.

  • Sometimes it is useful to get a visual impression of the action of the symmetry elements of a point group. GTShowSymmetryElements visualizes the inversion, reflection planes and rotation axes. The existence of the inversion center is demonstrated by a small golden sphere at the origin. Squares, oriented accordingly, represent the reflection planes. The directions of the rotantion axes are visualized. Small handles at both ends determine the order of the rotation. Only the highest order of a rotation is given per direction.
