GTGetSymbol

GTGetSymbol[symmetry element]
gives the symbol of a symmetry element.

DetailsDetails

  • The Notation:
  • denoting a proper rotation through the angle in the right-hand screw sense about the axis .
  • Improper rotations are formulated as the product of the spatial inversion operation and a proper rotation .
  • Double group elements are denoted with an overline .
  • All the axes involved are indicated as follows:
  • J.F. Cornwell, Group Theory in Physics - An Introduction, Academic Press 1997
  • The input of GTGetSymbol can be of type symbol, matrix, quaternion, and Euler angles.
  • A list of all implemented point group symbols can be given by GTAllSymbols.
